The Women’s Leadership Council at Roosevelt University is pleased to welcome three new members to its Advisory Board: Arica Latimer (MSHRM ’15), Ashley McMiller (BA ’10) and Tamecka Sandifer (BA ’99). As new advisory board members, the trio will support the Council’s mission of facilitating solutions to remove the gender gap in all aspects of the global economy. They will lend their perspective as business owners and alumna; help create meaningful opportunities for connection and growth for women in the Chicago community; and offer crucial networking opportunities for women in the business world. 

“As a business owner and entrepreneur, I hope to bring a perspective rooted in innovation, perseverance and the realities of building something from the ground up,” says Sandifer, who owns and operates her own stationary company called Honeyprint. “I’d love to see more programming around entrepreneurship, financial empowerment and wellness. Topics that prepare women not only for leadership but for sustainable success in all aspects of their life.”

Throughout the year, these Advisory Board members will participate in campus events such as the Holiday Luncheon, Women’s Leadership Symposium on Economic Empowerment and the Council’s annual Spring Read. The members will also work closely with the McNair Scholars, 25 promising undergraduates who identify as first-generation with financial need with the knowledge necessary to achieve and successfully complete a research-based graduate degree and contribute to the advancement of higher education.
