127 Roosevelt Student-Athletes Earn GLIAC Academic Honors

Roosevelt was well-represented on the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference all-academic teams with more than 120 total student-athletes honored by the league.

BAY CITY, Mich. – Roosevelt was well-represented on the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference all-academic teams with more than 120 total student-athletes honored by the league.

The GLIAC splits its honors into two categories with those holding a GPA between 3.0 and 3.49 honored as Academic All-GLIAC honorees. Those student-athletes with a GPA of 3.5 or higher are named to the GLIAC's Academic Excellence team. Roosevelt had 75 students named Academic All-GLIAC and another 52 were named to the Academic Excellence team.

Thirteen different teams had at least five players on one of the two lists and four had at least 10 student-athletes honored. Football had the most overall student-athletes honored with 18, but men's tennis had eight student-athletes on the Academic Excellence team. Women's soccer was a close second with 15 overall honorees, including seven on the Academic Excellence team, while baseball also had 15 honorees.

Individually, 15 of those honored were all-conference selections in their respective sports, including four first-team selections. Four Lakers earned triple honors from the league with representation on the cross country, indoor track & field and outdoor track & field lists. Six men's volleyball student-athletes were also recognized in the GLIAC's at-large category to recognize athletes from NCAA-sponsored sports the GLIAC does not sponsor.
